As in all the matches so far in this year’s Atlantic Cup, there was a good tempo and high intensity from the kickoff. The biggest chance before halftime came from IFK just after we had passed the first ten minutes. Sebastian Clemmensen demonstrated how fast he is, running past everyone and getting one-on-one with Rosenborg’s goalkeeper Leopold Wahlstedt, who made a brilliant save. After this, the major chances were lacking, and the teams went into halftime scoreless.

As usual, both teams made numerous substitutions, and after the break, the Swedes took control of the play, creating several opportunities. One of the best chances fell to David Kruse, but his shot deflected off a Rosenborg player and went just wide of the post. With under ten minutes remaining, Rosenborg had a golden opportunity, but Jonas Mortensen’s shot was saved by IFK’s goalkeeper. In the dying seconds of the match, the decisive moment came when Max Fenger secured what must be considered a well-deserved victory for IFK Göteborg.
