Brøndby IF and IFK Göteborg featured in the very last game of The Atlantic Cup 2015. And the Danish and Swedish team provided the viewers with a great and exciting match with plenty of chances. Despite of this there was only one goal and Brøndby won 1-0.
Brøndby IF and IFK Göteborg are two of the largest teams in Scandinavia and they provided the viewers of The Atlantic Cup with a cracking final game.
There were chances a-plenty, but the score at halftime was only 1-0. And it was Brøndby who took the lead after a magnificent goal. Johan Elmander ran forward with the ball and passed it out to Nørgaard. The young Dane combined with new signing Johan Larsson before the ball was sent back to Lebogang Phiri. After taking a touch he curled the ball ever so sweetly up in to the top corner. Fantastic goal.
Earlier IFK Göteborg hit the jointing of the goal where Lukas Hradecky was left stranded. The Finnish international must have been quite pleased when the ball flew back to him. Brøndby winger Ferhan Hasani wasn’t as pleased when he didn’t make the most of two great chances. First he shot wide when he was alone in the box and minutes later he failed to find a team mate when he had plenty of time to pass the ball in front of the goal.
In the second half both teams had plenty of chances with both IFK Göteborg and Brøndby IF missing open chances. We didn’t get another goal and therefore Lebogang Phiri became the match winner and the last person to score in The Atlantic Cup 2015. A very fine goal to a great tournament.
